Karen’s journey started at college over 20 years ago when she enrolled to do a bookkeeping course. From there, she studied AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4 as a day release student. During her AAT studies, she started teaching at college, at first delivering Sage and then progressing to AAT.

Karen worked in an accounting practice for 14 years, before moving into education work and she has also worked as Vice Chair for an awarding organisation and Chair of Audit and Finance.

Since studying AAT, Karen has completed an assessor’s qualification, CertEd teaching qualification and completed all ACCA exams, which has been challenging being a single parent and being very busy with work commitments.

Karen proudly works with e-Careers as a Faculty Director of Accounting, across a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping courses.
