When you have earned your AAT Level 3 qualification, you can set up your own business and apply to provide 5 services.
These services include:
AAT Licensed Bookkeeper (Level 3) - bookkeeping, financial accounts for small businesses, VAT, computerised accountancy systems, and payroll.
Earning your AAT Level 3 qualification will give you AATQB status, letting you use the designatory letters AATQB after your name. These designatory letters show you have gained the skills, experience and knowledge to work that employers are looking for, which can result in an increase in your earning potential. You can also now legally submit final balances for any sized organisation.
Once you have completed AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, you can apply to earn your AATQB status, and can use the designatory letters AATQB after your name. You can then apply to run your own practice as an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper.
AAT Level 2 Accounting training will provide you with a basic knowledge of accounting principles and skills. At this level, your knowledge in accounting will start to develop and finance administration is your focus.

AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting Exam Details
Included in your online hub is all the support you need to pass your exams, including e-learning, books, mock papers and practice assessments. Your personal AAT tutor will also run your live online classes so that you get the benefits of learning in a college class without leaving your home. Live online classes cover revision sessions and practice papers on the units you need to pass your exams.
There are four exams in total. All are computer-based exams, including 1 Synoptic Assessment.
Exams
When you are ready to take your assessments, you need to book your exam at an AAT approved assessment venue. We can help find the closest one to you. Exam fees vary from centre to centre.
Exam fees are not included in the course cost.
Your final exam is a Synoptic assessment, which will test your understanding of connections between the different topics covered across the Level 2 qualification. Synoptic assessments are sat towards the end of your qualification and will be taken at specific times throughout the year.
AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting Exam Details
Your course contains all the support and resources you need to pass your exams with flying colours. You will have access to mock papers, past recorded sessions, and the ability to contact your tutor with any questions you may have. Online classes cover revision sessions and practice papers on all the modules needed to pass your exams such as Business Awareness, Management Accounting Techniques and Audit and Assurance.
There are 4 computer-based exams in total, which will need to be taken at your local AAT test centre.

The exam format includes multiple-choice questions, selecting answers from a drop-down menu and typing numbers and text into form fields.
